Indirect cylinder

1:2 systems

One pully is installed over the cylinder and a set of ropes transfer the cylinder movement to the car. In this case cylinder movement is doubled that’s why it is called 1:2 system

1:3 systems

One pully is installed under the cylinder in addition to the over one in 1:2 system and a set of ropes transfer the cylinder movement to the car. In this case cylinder movement is tripled that’s why it is called 1:3 system
